나주시천연색소산업화지원센터(이하 나주색소센터)에서는 전라남도 그린바이오산업 육성 제3차 전문가 초청 컨퍼런스를 국립순천대학교 글로컬대학 그린바이오사업단과 함께 개최했다고 알려왔다.

본 컨퍼런스는 12일 국립순천대학교 70주년 기념관 초석홀에서 진행되었으며, 국립순천대학 이병운 총장, 청암대학교 김성홍 총장, 한국식품연구원 백현동 원장을 비롯한 내외빈 100여명이 참석하여 뜨거운 공감대를 형성하는 자리였다. 주요 내용으로는 국내 그린바이오산업의 현황, 전라남도 그린바이오산업 최신 연구 및 산업화 동향 그리고 새정부의 R&D 정책방향에 관하여 전문가 강연이 진행되었으며 더불어 전문패널 토론자리까지 마련되었다.

새정부가 출범하면서 국정기획위원회를 통하여 국가비전과 함께 5대 국정목표·23대 추진전략·123대 국정과제 정부제안이 13일날 발표되었다. 특히 세계를 이끄는 혁신경제 국정과제 주요 내용으로는 R&D 예산확대, 연구환경조성, 핵심인재 양성유치를 통해 과학기술 5대 강국 실현을 위하여 AI·바이오헬스 등 미래전략산업을 신성장동력으로 육성한다는 계획이다. 이러한 새정부 R&D 정책 발표시기보다 앞서서 전라남도 그린바이오산업육성 컨퍼런스가 선제적으로 개최되어 의미가 더욱 깊었다는 평가이다.

컨퍼런스 세부내용으로는 한국식품연구원 이영경 단장(그린바이오산업의 현재와 미래)의 강연을 시작으로 전남바이오진흥원 이학성 본부장(전남 그린바이오산업 최신연구 및 산업화 동향), 농림식품기술기획평가원 이은주 PD(그린바이오산업 육성을 위한 새정부 R&D정책 방향)의 발표가 진행되었고, 국립순천대학교 글로컬대학 그린바이오 단장인 천지연 교수의 토론사회자 주도로 전라남도 농축산식품국 박현식 국장, 전남농업기술원 이진우 국장, 나주시천연색소산업화지원센터 이승제 센터장이 토론자로 참여하였다.

이번 컨퍼런스에서는 새정부의 그린바이오산업 육성방향에 기반하여 전라남도 그린바이오산업 육성 방향 및 전략 발굴에 중점을 두었으며, 특히 새정부의 차년도 그린바이오산업의 핵심방향인 기후변화대응과 탄소중립 이행을 중심으로 한 그린바이오 소재화, 반려동물 난치성 질환, 농생명자원기반 필수의약품원료, K-작물보호제, 자원 재순환(업사이클링)에 관한 논의가 집중적으로 이루어졌다.

이승제 나주시천연색소산업화지원센터 센터장은 패널토론을 통하여 “전라남도에서 생산되는 농축수산물의 비교우위를 분석하여 글로벌 경쟁상품을 전략적으로 육성할 필요성이 있으며, 특히 국립순천대학교를 중심으로 한 연구기반과 나주시의 농식품종합가공지원센터 및 푸드업사이클링센터를 중심으로 한 인프라 기반설비를 연계하여 선택적인 소재분야 파운드리를 구축할 필요성”을 제기하였다.

본 컨퍼런스는 나주시천연색소산업화지원센터에서 수행중인 전라남도 2025년도 제2차 연구개발기획사업인 “근채류(무, 양파, 마늘) 고부가 업사이클링 기술개발 및 산업화 기획연구“와 국립순천대학교 글로컬대학 지산학 캠퍼스의 지원사업 일환으로 공동개최되었다.

더불어 나주시천연색소산업화지원센터에서는 농진청 2025년도 농산부산물 Eco-순환 기술개발사업인 ”과실 부산물 제로 웨이스트(Zero Waste) 기반 다용도 소재 기술 개발“ 사업을 수행중에 있다. 또한 나주시는 2024년도에 농림축산식품부 푸드테크사업에 공모하여 푸드업사이클링연구지원센터 구축사업에 선정되었고 2026년 하반기에 설비구축사업을 완료한다는 계획이다.

Naju City Natural Pigment Industrialization Support Center ( hereinafter referred to as Naju Pigment Center ) announced that it held the 3rd Expert Invitation Conference for the Promotion of Green Bio Industry in Jeollanam -do together with the Green Bio Business Unit of the Glocal University of Suncheon National University .

This conference was held on the 12th at the Choseok Hall of the 70th Anniversary Memorial Hall of Suncheon National University . It was an event where about 100 domestic and foreign guests, including President Lee Byeong-un of Suncheon National University , President Kim Seong-hong of Cheongam University , and Director Baek Hyeon-dong of the Korea Food Research Institute, attended and formed a warm consensus . The main contents included expert lectures on the current status of the domestic green bio industry , the latest research and industrialization trends of the green bio industry in Jeollanam-do, and the new government's R&D policy direction, and an expert panel discussion was also held .

With the launch of the new government, the government proposal for 5 major national goals , 23 implementation strategies , and 123 national tasks was announced on the 13th through the State Affairs Planning Committee along with the national vision . In particular, the main contents of the national task for an innovative economy leading the world include a plan to foster future strategic industries such as AI and biohealth as new growth engines in order to realize the 5th largest powerhouse in science and technology by expanding the R&D budget , creating a research environment , and attracting and nurturing key talents . It is evaluated that the Jeollanam-do Green Bio Industry Promotion Conference was held preemptively ahead of the announcement of the new government's R&D policy, making it even more meaningful .

The conference details began with a lecture by Director Lee Young-kyung of the Korea Food Research Institute ( Present and Future of the Green Bio Industry ) , followed by presentations by Director Lee Hak-seong of the Jeonnam Bio Promotion Agency ( Latest Research and Industrialization Trends of the Jeonnam Green Bio Industry ) and PD Lee Eun-ju of the National Institute of Agricultural and Food Technology Planning and Evaluation (New Government R&D Policy Direction for Fostering the Green Bio Industry ) . The discussion was moderated by Professor Cheon Ji-yeon , Director of the Green Bio Division at the Glocal College of Suncheon National University, and discussed by Director Park Hyeon-sik of the Livestock and Food Bureau of Jeollanam-do Province , Director Lee Jin-woo of the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services , and Director Lee Seung-je of the Naju City Natural Pigment Industrialization Support Center .

This conference focused on discovering the direction and strategy for fostering the green bio industry in Jeollanam-do based on the new government's green bio industry fostering direction , and in particular, discussions were focused on green bio materialization , intractable diseases for companion animals , essential pharmaceutical raw materials based on agricultural and bio-resources , K- crop protection agents , and resource recycling ( upcycling ) centered on climate change response and carbon neutrality transition, which are the core directions of the new government's green bio industry for the next year .

Lee Seung-je, director of the Naju City Natural Pigment Industrialization Support Center, raised the need to “ strategically foster globally competitive products by analyzing the comparative advantages of agricultural, livestock, and marine products produced in Jeollanam-do , and in particular, to establish a selective materials field foundry by linking the research base centered around Suncheon National University and the infrastructure facilities centered around Naju City’s Agricultural and Food Processing Support Center and Food Upcycling Center ” through a panel discussion .

This conference was co-hosted as part of the 2025 Jeollanam-do 2nd R&D project, “Root Vegetable (Radish, Onion, Garlic) High Value-Added Upcycling Technology Development and Industrialization Planning Research,” being carried out by the Naju City Natural Pigment Industrialization Support Center , and the support project of the Jisanhak Campus of the Glocal College of Suncheon National University .

In addition, the Naju City Natural Pigment Industrialization Support Center is currently carrying out the " Development of Multipurpose Material Technology Based on Zero Waste of Fruit By-products , " a 2025 Agricultural By-product Eco- Circulation Technology Development Project of the Rural Development Administration . In addition, Naju City was selected for the Food Upcycling Research Support Center Construction Project through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' Food Tech Project in 2024, and plans to complete the facility construction project in the second half of 2026 .
